Map & practical information

 Location and map:

The lectures and oral presentations will take place at the Edmond Becquerel Amphitheatre of  The Institut Photovoltaïque d’Île-de-France (IPVF) whereas the poster session will be held at the atrium next to the amphitheatre.

IPVF is the research and training center in the field of photovoltaics of worldwide acknowledgement. It specializes in silicon-perovskite tandem solar cells, aiming at the combination of low fabrication cost and high efficiency. Their wafer-size cells aspire to the industrial sector and the interest in innovations and breakthrough ideas are implemented into the research. A cherry on the pie of excellence is the high standard of the characterisation techniques, that aims at understanding the materials and increasing the knowledge. All supported by careful calculations and modelling.

Information on laboratory visits:

Below, we provide the provisional plan for the visits to Soleil Synchrotron (31 March 2022) and IPVF (01 April 2022).

The participants (max. 40 people) will be divided into 4 groups, each with at most 10 people. Each group will receive information and schedule for their corresponding laboratory visits.

On the first day of the workshop, 31 March 2022, the lab session at Soleil Synchrotron is planned to consist of guided visits to the main infrastructure as well as the various Soleil beamlines and laboratories (CASSIOPEE, GALAXIES, NANOSCOPIUM, FemtoARPES). Below is a schematic depiction of the Soleil ring with the relevant beamlines and laboratories encircled.

The participants should gather at the Soleil welcome desk at 14:15 the latest. The visit to Soleil Synchrotron will start with a 20-minute visit to the Soleil main infrastructure with an introduction given by a designated guide from Soleil, one guide per group. From 15:00–15:55, each group will pay 2 consecutive visits at 2 different beamlines/laboratories in total. Each visit lasts for about 25 minutes with 5 minutes of transit (on foot).

Please find underneath the approved timetable for the Soleil visit during Peroquium. For the trip from IPVF to Soleil and back on 31 March, a bus will be provided by the organizers. The bus will pick up all participants from IPVF at 13:15. Due to time constraint, we kindly ask everyone to be punctual.

On 01 April 2022, the 4 groups will take turns to experience various experiments at the IPVF laboratories. Each group will visit two sections at IPVF. The “Fabrication” section consists of spin coating and slot die coating. The XRD and I-V characteristic measurements measurements will be the ones at “Characterization” section. The visits provide the opportunity not only to get a glimpse at the fabrication and characterization facility at IPVF but also to directly pose questions as well as exchange research ideas.

A graphical presentation of the schedule for IPVF visit can be found right below.

The most recent visual demonstration of the schedule for the lab sessions will be updated on our website as soon as possible!

The Covid pandemic has created an enormous barrier to organizing events physically worldwide, especially for visits to laboratories. We look forwards to your understanding and will keep you up to date with the most recent development in our program.

Latest news on lunch and Covid regulation:

  1. Lunch will be provided at IPVF on 31 March and at École Polytechnique on 01 April.

  2. Wearing of face masks remains obligatory during visits to laboratories according to their local regulation.

  3. The French government puts to an end the requirement of wearing of masks in enclosed places (except in public transport) and of the “vaccination pass” (“pass vaccinal” in French).

  4. For vaccinated individuals, no test is required for travellers within the European Union. The nonvaccinated travellers are obliged to present a negative Covid test (antigen or PCR test) to arrive in France and, for those coming from a country in the list of “orange” countries, it is also required to produce a compelling reason to enter France.

  5. For more information, please consult at the official web portal of the French government in French and in English.

  6. Looking at the current Covid situation, to avoid any unforeseeable issue, we still strongly recommend all participants to be vaccinated unless advised medically otherwise.

  7. Wearing of masks is not compulsory but is greatly appreciately during lectures and talks, provided that you are not presenting.

The organizers are subjected to the present restriction imposed by the French authority. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
